Alastair Angus
Chief Information Officer
Alastair Angus is Chief Information Officer at CIBC Mellon. In this role, he leads the firm’s technology, data, and artificial intelligence strategies, helping drive innovation and transformation in CIBC Mellon’s services for institutional clients.
With more than 20 years of leadership experience, Alastair’s career spans major roles in asset management, investment banking, and fintech across Canada, the U.K., and the U.S. Before joining CIBC Mellon, he held senior positions at Canada Pension Plan Investments (CPP Investments), where he oversaw technology delivery as the firm expanded toward the $1 trillion AUM threshold.
He also led global capital markets technology teams at HSBC and was instrumental in technology initiatives for leading financial institutions such as Credit Suisse, UBS, and Morgan Stanley.
Most recently, Alastair served as Interim CIO at Prospect 33, an AI-focused capital markets fintech, where he helped bring its first product to market.
Alastair holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) in Computer Science & Electronics from the University of Edinburgh. He serves as a member of the governing body of Toronto CIO, a network of technology executives in the Greater Toronto Area.
