I joined CIBC Mellon in early November, and I am honoured to lead a company that takes great pride in delivering client service excellence. I‘m proud that our commitment to our clients was recognized in International Securities Finance (ISF) magazine’s 2009 Equity Lending Survey. In light of this result, we have dedicated this edition of Trade Talk to an exploration of the practice of securities lending in Canada.

Launched at a timely stage in the industry’s development, the Canadian Securities Lending Association (CASLA) is an industry group that is seeking to enhance the public’s understanding of securities lending, encourage the adoption of best-practices and work with regulators and other industry associations to ensure the operation of an efficient and secure marketplace.
