Daylight savings time begins March 11, 2007
In 2005, the U.S. passed legislation calling for daylight savings time to begin earlier in the year to help reduce energy consumption. Canada* agreed to adopt this change to avoid complications related to trade and travel.
Starting on March 11, 2007, daylight savings time will begin on the second Sunday in March (Mar. 11th) and end on the first Sunday in November (Nov. 4th).
However, Europe will revert to “summer time” (the daylight savings time equivalent) on March 25, 2007. This means that for two weeks, eastern time (ET) will be four hours behind the U.K., and five hours behind for other European countries.
Reviews and appropriate updates to our products and applications are underway, and we are confident that our systems will have completed all the necessary programming changes and internal testing to ensure there is no impact as a result of the time change.
If you have any questions or would like more information, please contact your relationship manager.
*Saskatchewan does not participate in daylight savings time
