Mellon Financial Again Recognized As 'Top Rated' Global Custodian
Best In Class awards and Top Ratings top the charts
Toronto, January 8, 2007 - Mellon Financial Corporation announced today that it received the highest number of 'Top Rated' recognitions and 'Best in Class' awards in the 2006 Global Custodian magazine Global Custody Survey.
The Mellon Group worldwide custody providers - Mellon Global Securities Services, ABN AMRO Mellon Global Securities Services, and CIBC Mellon Global Securities Services Company - were 'Top Rated' overall and across all three assets-in-custody categories (less than $1 billion, $1-$10 billion, and more than $10 billion), all three respondent categories (institutional investor, fund manager, and securities lending) and in North America and Europe. The Mellon Group also received 151 'Best in Class' awards, more than any other provider. These awards are given to custodians whose scores are equal to or better than the global average score in each service category.
There were 15 service categories in the institutional investor questionnaire, 12 in the fund manager questionnaire, and five in the securities lending questionnaire. The Mellon Group’s strongest areas were relationship management, client service, consultancy, reporting and technology.
'These results are a testament to The Mellon Group’s continuing commitment to provide exceptional quality service and superior technology solutions to our clients,' said Thomas C. MacMillan, CIBC Mellon president and chief executive officer. 'Our dedicated teamwork and highly skilled professionals continue to be the cornerstone of our success.'
Now in its 16th year, Global Custodian’s survey of global custodian banks ranked 13 providers worldwide based on 775 survey responses received from institutional investors and fund managers.
