Among available tools, CIBC Mellon supports SWIFT (Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication) messaging.  In fact, CIBC Mellon was the first Canadian custodian to receive SWIFT entitlement messages from CDS.  And, we were the first in Canada to introduce clients to SWIFT in 1997.

 

SWIFT messaging services at CIBC Mellon help clients communicate clearance, settlement, balance and position information securely, quickly and accurately.

 

By standardising and automating the business flows for a number of processes (including settlement, reconciliation, corporate actions, proxy voting, cash management and treasury functions), SWIFT helps eliminate error-prone manual steps, reducing operational cost and risk.
